The Importance of Self-Care for Entrepreneurs..

As an entrepreneur, you have plenty on your plate. Starting and running a business is no easy feat, so you will need a strong body and mind to handle all the necessary tasks to make your company a true success. To stay in the right frame of mind, you need to make self-care a priority. Here are some tips from Spa Team International on how to include self-care into your everyday routine.

Get Enough Sleep

In order to achieve your business goals, you need to set yourself up for success, and the first way to do that is to get enough sleep the night prior. Doctors recommend getting at least eight to 10 hours of sleep. Doing so not only helps you to feel relaxed and wake up with a clear head so you can do important tasks, but by refreshing your brain every night with sleep, you will also be less stressed. It is important to manage your irritation when working with clients and vendors so you can have a positive business relationship.

Simplify Running Your Business

Once you have a good sleep pattern, you can further live a healthy and stress-free life by simplifying how you manage your business and complete day-to-day tasks. One way to do that is by creating a “doing business as” (DBA) which allows you to easily branch out into new services and product lines and you can do it all under your one entrepreneurial umbrella. Doing so will also protect your company against other people using your name.

In addition to the DBA, you can also make your work easier by outsourcing some tasks and bringing on an employee once you have the funds.

Exercise and Diet

There are other tasks that you can do away from work to keep a healthy life and that includes incorporating exercise and eating right. For exercise, you don’t have to run marathons, but if you can fit in about 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week, you will not only keep a lean figure and shred pounds, but you will also start the day feeling refreshed. When you engage in high-impact exercises, you get your mind working and you never know what great ideas you will come up with. 

Along with exercise, you need to eat right. Whenever possible, stray from eating at fast-food restaurants as meals there are typically filled with dangerous trans fats that will make you feel sluggish and tired, which will likely hinder your work. Instead, look to foods that are high in protein, such as fish and nuts, because protein works to repair your muscles and provides boundless energy which can help you safely get through the day.

Relax Your Mind

As an entrepreneur, you likely work long hours to keep your business working at peak efficiency. To do that for a long period of time, you need to have a healthy mind, and you can get there by practicing relaxation exercises like those provided through yoga and meditation. If you have never meditated before, then you can find guidance online or go to a class, and it will do wonders. Keeping an organized and clutter-free home can also promote relaxation and reduce stress and negativity. 

You can also try breathing exercises when you are feeling extra stressed. One simple exercise you can do is to simply breathe in through your nose for three seconds and then slowly breathe out of your mouth. Repeat that exercise until you feel better.
