Spa Employee Benefits and Perks to Offer in 2022..

Access to top talent has never been better for businesses across industries. But that doesn’t mean attracting and retaining the best workers is any easier than it used to be. Offering a fair salary can still go a long way, but millennials and Gen Zers are looking for much more from the companies to which they’re considering dedicating their careers. Below, Spa Team International discusses some innovative benefits and perks to offer your recruits in 2022.

Financial Incentives

The less your employees have to worry about at home, the more productive they'll be in the workplace. Think of how you can boost your team members' financial wellness. For example, offer a retirement savings plan and match employee contributions up to a specific amount. Also, make sure your workers have stellar health, dental, and vision insurance.

Another idea is to provide your employees with the option to open a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA), both of which help workers save for future healthcare necessities. While these accounts come out of the employee’s salary, their contributions will be deducted from their taxable income.

These days, many employees expect same-day direct deposit to ensure prompt payment. If this is something you would like to provide your staff, look to an online accounting solution that will make it easy to initiate direct deposits while also increasing staff accountability and helping you forecast accurate project costs.

Wellness Incentives

Employee wellness programs are becoming more popular across industries. The key is to provide workers with some low-cost ways to boost their overall well-being and energy levels. For example, maybe you could provide healthy lunch options and snacks in the workplace. Perhaps you could give employees free coffee and create a fun and relaxing recharging station.

Daily Life Incentives

Another way to increase quality of life for your team is to provide benefits and perks that directly impact their daily lives. Paid time off (PTO) is a must. Depending on your industry, you may even consider unlimited PTO, provided that it isn't essential for your workers to be on site on specific days of the year.

Many companies are paying their employees to volunteer at local charities that align with individual or company values. Volunteer time off (VTO) is an excellent way to boost your workers’ quality of life while helping your organization build relationships in the community.

It's also important to consider the prevalence of mental health problems today. If you’re not offering a free employee assistance program (EAP) to your workers, now is the time to create that program. This will allow your employees to receive professional counseling and therapy for substance abuse, marital and family issues, financial stress, and other concerns that impact mental health.

Professional Development Incentives

Finally, employees want to know that their company will help them advance their careers. Determine what resources you can provide your workers that will benefit their professional development. Anything that can help your workers master new skills, expand their knowledge, and better fill their roles will be well worth the investment.

For example, consider reimbursing your employees for college tuition that relates to your industry. If you can’t commit to full reimbursement, offer student loan repayment assistance. There are great online programs that your staff can attend while still working full time. You can encourage your employees towards programs in healthcare administration, project management, or marketing if they want to move into different roles within your organization.

Also, start putting on workshops and seminars in the office by bringing in outside experts to share their knowledge with your team. And institute a formal mentorship program to boost innovation and foster a healthy, goal-oriented environment. Spa Team International has helped many spas and health and wellness companies improve their marketing and develop their businesses.

If you want to take advantage of the talented pool of workers available today, you must ensure your company is offering the right benefits and perks. Consider the ideas above and keep researching other incentives businesses are using to attract top talent. Remember that any upfront investments that lead to more productivity and efficiency will quickly pay off and position your company for long-term growth!
