Pressurized oxygen therapy for recovery, healing, and cellular regeneration
About Hyperbaric Oxygen
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) places the guest inside a pressurized chamber where they breathe 100% pure oxygen at 1.5–3 times normal atmospheric pressure. The increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve into plasma, lymph, and cerebrospinal fluid at concentrations far above what normal respiration achieves. Originally developed for wound healing and decompression sickness treatment, HBOT has entered the luxury wellness space as a powerful recovery and longevity tool.
What to Expect
Spa-grade hyperbaric chambers are typically 'mild' HBOT systems operating at 1.3–1.5 ATA (atmospheres absolute) — lower pressure than medical chambers but sufficient to achieve significantly elevated oxygen saturation. Sessions last 60–90 minutes in a comfortable reclining chamber. Guests often read, listen to music, or sleep during sessions. Many spas pair HBOT with other recovery modalities — IV therapy, red light, or cryotherapy — as part of comprehensive longevity programs.
For Spa Operators
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy commands premium pricing ($150–$400 per session at luxury facilities) and attracts a wellness-forward, high-income demographic. It's currently one of the most differentiated offerings a spa can add — very few facilities in most markets have it, creating significant competitive advantage for early adopters.
